Bangalore, Mar 11: Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders tried to calm down the agitated nerves of the enraged BJP faction by convening a meeting of leaders from both the sides here on Tuesday March 10. There has been lot of discontentment within the party, as a faction feels sidelined by the high-handed behaviour shown by the chief minister B S Yeddyurappa in the allotment of Lok Sabha tickets.
The meeting was held in 'Keshava Kripa' of RSS. BJP national general secretary Anant Kumar, who is reportedly very much disappointed for not being able to secure tickets for his supporters and state unit president of the BJP D V Sadanand Gowda participated. RSS leaders K Narahari and Jayadev too were present. Both Anant Kumar and Gowda gave their versions of the process of the ticket allocations.
The controversial issue of deciding in favour of allotting tickets to Raghavendra, son of the chief minister, Shivkumar Udasi, son of minister C M Udasi, Shanti, sister of minister Sriramulu and the brother of minister Umesh Katti came in for discussions. Reportedly, Sadanand Gowda stuck to the stand that decisions in favour of these candidates were taken with the single aim of bagging maximum number of seats for the party in the state.
Only time will tell as to whether Anant Kumar was satisfied with this clarification.
