Bengaluru: Cash, goods worth Rs 7.89 crore held in violation of code of conduct seized

Bengaluru, Apr 4: Officials who ensure adherence to model code of conduct have seized Rs 7.89 crore in cash, liquor worth Rs 36.48 lac, drugs valued at Rs 6.16 lac and Rs 1.65 crore worth other items in the state during the last 24 hours.

The overall cash confiscated so far is Rs 48.25 crore. Election officials have seized at Mylar check post Rs two lac being carried on bike by Maharudra Hosamani, resident of Holalu village near Hoovinahadagali.

They have also confiscated Rs 1.9 crore cash of DCC bank being carried by car at Nesaragi check post, Bailhongal taluk without documents.

The cash was being carried from DCC bank head office to various branches of the bank via Nesaragi road.
