Bantwal, Apr 1: A mass campaign meeting for Mangaluru constituency Lok Sabha candidate of Congress Mithun Rai was set in motion at Farangipete on March 30.
Congress district president Harish Kumar who chaired the meeting said that BJP is indulging in politics in the name of soldiers. “It portrays the work done for the security of the country as that done by BJP activists. Similar surgical strikes were held in the term of former pirme minister Indira Gandhi. But Congress refrained from politics and left the matter to the soldiers. BJP is in coma and is breathing only because of a series of lies. BJP will snatch the right to vote if it comes to power again and democracy will be ruined,” he said.
Congress candidate Mithun Rai said that activists should be determined to convert strong fortress of BJP. “Not only Congress but BJP leaders too desire change in the district. There has been setback in the development of Dakshina Kannada district in the last ten years. The MP himself is setting fire to the district,” he said.
“I will create jobs and make the cultural glory of the coast identified in international levels. Therefore, party activists should join hands with the party in the remaining twenty days. Development should be our slogan and Mithun Rai should be made to win,” he said.
District in charge minister U T Khader said that we should proceed on straight path without following the debates of left wing and right wing.

District chief secretary Umar Farook welcomed and gave an introduction. Rafik Perimar rendered the vote of thanks. Mohammed Gazali compered the programme.
