Puttur: Head Constable in Lokayukta Net – Remanded to Judicial Custody

Puttur, Mar 4: Head constable Narayan, attached to the rural police station in the town, was arrested by the Lokayukta police on Tuesday March 3, allegedly for accepting bribe.

The Lokabyukta police caught him red-handed when accepting Rs 500 from a person named Lokesh, in connection with a case of assault registered against him. On being produced in Mangalore court, Narayan was remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.

    Dear Ben, Lokayukhta is doing a good job. They have recently arrested a BJP MLA while accepting bribe and made him to dance to their tune. There are many such cases in Bangalore. But the sad part is they do not have enough power, which is unfortunate. No question should be raised whether it is small or big bribe, only then they can expose all corrupt practices.

    These Lokayukhta nets are made only for fishing the small fish which are accepting the smaller amounts. Do we say these Lokayuktas are paid by the Govt to fish only poor low level officers but they dont try to get hold of the big whales (politicians) who are pocketing millions...of rupees.
