Bengaluru, Mar 28: Even as rumblings continue to be heard within the BJP for overlooking Tejaswini Ananth Kumar's claim to city (south) Lok Sabha ticket, a woman has taken to twitter to question the suitability of Tejasvi Surya to represent the people of this constituency.
The lady, in a number of tweets, charged Tejasvi with abusing and hitting women besides being a womaniser. She also has asked the people whether they would blindly support such a man.
The woman said she had suffered at his hands for about five years till she took a firm decision to put an end to the harassment. She asserted that she was not the only victim of his misbehaviour. She also wondered why the BJP did not check his background before allotting Lok Sabha ticket, and that she is prepared to provide proof.
Karnataka Congress shared these tweets. It also wondered whether Tejasvi is moving on the path of becoming another M J Akbar. It may be recalled that M J Akbar had resigned as minister of state for external affairs last year after sexual harassment allegations were leveled against him under #Metoo campaign.
After the tweets were widely shared, the woman deleted them, duly asking the people to leave the issue alone. She said that both of them are from noble families and people might suffer if the matter is blown out of context. Later, her Twitter profile seemed to have become inactive.
Tejasvi filed his nomination papers on Tuesday and many in the party have not been able to digest the meteoric rise of the youngster through BJP's ranks. Some leaders including V Somanna have sought clarification for ignoring Tejaswini Ananth Kumar before they can begin campaigning for Tejasvi in right earnest.
