Kundapur, Mar 2: The struggle of renaming Byndoor railway station as Mookambika Railway Station came to an end with the arrival of K L Dikshit, chief operation manager, Konkan Railway Corporation, Belapur, and senior officers on Saturday February 27.
The officers examined the basic facilities available at the railway station.
Office-bearers of the Railway Yatri Sangh submitted the memorandum requesting appointment of additional railway staff, a shelter for passengers on the platform, generator, and reservation and counter facilities.
After the inspection, Dikshit promised to provide more facilities required for a first grade railway station.
D S Lingaraju, Konkan Railway Corporation, Venkatesh Kini, president, Mookambika Railway Yatri Sangh, Jagadish Patawal, secretary, Prakash Byndoor and Nagaraj Shet, were present on the occasion.
