Panaji: Musical Show, 'Goa Sings Mahan Mhojo Des' to Promote National Integration

Panaji, Mar 2: Kala Mogi, Candolim will stage a musical show of patriotic songs in Konkani, titled ‘Goa Sings Mahan Mhojo Des’ on Wednesday March 4 at 7.00 pm sharp, at DMK Auditorium, Kala Mogi, Panaji and on the sixth of this month at 4.00 pm at Gomant Vidya Niketan Margao. Promotion of national integration through music is the aim of this musical show.

Acclaimed Goan singers namely Sonia Sirsat, Anthony San, Sucorro de Santa Cruz, Shrish Lawande, Anil Kumar, Fatima, Maria, Eugenio, Mathias, Irene besides Kala Akademy’s award-winning drama troupe Kala Mogi, Candolim, will participate in the programme.

The lyrics of all the patriotic songs have been penned by Tomazinho Cardozo, while the music has been composed by Mukesh Ghatwal. An eight-piece orchestra under the direction of Mukesh will accompany the singers.

In order to ensure that maximum people will attend the programme, admission to this show is will be free of cost. The musical show at Panjim is being supported by Goa Konkani Akademi while at Margao it is supported by the department of art & culture. Background music for the skits is being provided by Vikas Chopdekar, while light affects are designed by Dnanjay Phalkar. The show is directed by Tomazinho Cardozo. All the music lovers are cordially invited to participate in the promotion of National Integration, the organizers said.

    'Goa Sings Mahan Mhojo Des' is indeed a fine initiative. Kala Mogi Candolim and other cultural associations and organizations in Goa are doing their level best to promote national integration in the State. Harmony, solidarity, fraternity, unity and co-humanity have been time tested building blocks for our way of proceeding in Goa. Best wishes.
