Mangaluru, Mar 26: Two persons who were moving on a motor bike snatched away a bag containing seven lac rupees in cash, from a person moving in a scooter. The incident happened on Monday March 25 near Wenlock Hospital here.

Hameed from Deralakatte had parked his scooter at the central railway station here at 7.15 pm on March 23. He had then travelled to Tamil Nadu by train. He has claimed that he collected seven lac rupees in cash from certain persons there, pertaining to fish trade. He began his return journey from Tamil Nadu at 6 pm on March 24 and arrived at the central railway station at 5 am on Monday.

Hameed says that he then placed the bag containing money near the footrest of his scooter and began to ride his scooter towards his home. He stopped near Wenlock Hospital to have tea near a tempo canteen there. At around 5.25 am, two persons who were moving in a motor bike suddenly approached him, snatched away the bag containing money, and escaped towards Falnir here.

A case about the incident was registered in Pandeshwar police station. Investigation is on.
