Beltangady, Feb 28: The state-level Technical Convention for Women Farmers was held at Amruthavarshini auditorium of Dharmasthala on Friday February 27.
The event was jointly organized by the state department of agriculture and Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project.
Speaking after inaugurating the occasion, Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade said that the women have been given equal opportunity on par with men in the field of politics, financial, societal and even in job opportunities. Women can lead an independent life through education. Creating awareness among the women can help them to prosper in any field, he added.
Women must have clear vision about their future to become financially independent, he said.
Farmers must progress financially by adopting modern technology, said K P Sucharita Shetty, Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat president, who presided over the function.
