Mangalore, Feb 28: Prof M Abdul Rahiman, former vice-chancellor of Kannur and Calicut universities, inaugurated the Career Guidance and Information Centre in the city on Friday February 27.
Delivering the inaugural address at Sahodaya Hall he said that career guidance would help students in shaping their future. He added that many students in the society were deprived of proper guidance and the centre should reach out to them to nourish their talents.
Prof Rahiman also opined that students should stick to reading to enhance their knowledge. He said that communication skills are also an important factor in pursuing better prospects.
Umar U H, centre head, outlined the services available at the centre. Dr R Nagappa Gowda, former co-ordinator, distance education, KSOU, Mysore, was the guest of honour.
Career guidance expert Ameen-e-Mudassar delivered a talk on ‘Role of Mangagement and Faculties of Institutions in Career Guidance’.
Prof Ronald Pinto, vice-principal, St Aloysius College, presided over the function.
