Mangalore, Feb 28: The 26th annual cultural festival ,'Incident-09' was held at National Institute of Technology Karnataka(NITK), Suratkal on Thursday February 26.
Speaking after inaugurating the programme, P Tamilvanan, president, New Mangalore Port Trust, said that the students have the responsibilities towards protecting the culture of the country, apart from safeguarding national integration.
The NITK and NMPT have gained equal prominence in the national level, he said.
K Lakshminarayan, group general manager, ONGC- Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, extended his best wishes to the students and management of the NITK.
Prof Sandeep Sancheti, director, NITK, presided over the function.
Neelakant Prabhu, Incident - 09 programme coordinator, delivered the introductory speech.
Prof V R Shastri, dean, student affairs department welcomed the gathering. Shruti Hariharan, representative, Students Union proposed vote of thanks.
Large number of NIT students and other students various colleges participated on the occasion.
