Karkala, Feb 27: Addressing a meeting held at the local Manjunath Pai Memorial Cultural Hall on Thursday February 26 as part of the Anti-terrorism Students Awareness Camapaign undertaken by the state government, Mysore Maharani College professor and scholar B V Vasant Kumar expressed the confidence, that the young people of the country have the power and potential in them to stop the scourge of terrorism.
"Terrorism is not a problem borne out of poverty or unemployment. It is the part of an organized plot meant to weaken the internal security system of India. Therefore, every one needs to be aware of terrorism activities and their fall out," he argued.
State Anti-terrorism Awareness Campaign president M K Suvruth Kumar, who inaugurated the campaign, informed that 20 lac students from 6,000 educational institutions belonging to 175 taluks of 30 districts of the state have so far taken part in this campaign.
Bhuvanendra College principal Prof B Padmanabh Gowda administered the oath on this occasion. Municipal president Seetaram inaugurated the students rally taken out on the occasion. Taluk panchayat president B Sundar presided.
