Udupi, Feb 27: A two-day third national visionary conference of Karnataka Darshana Parishat will be held at the Rajanagan of Sri Krishna Math here on Sunday March 8 and the next day.
The event is being jointly organized by Karnataka Darshana Parishat and Sharada College, Basrur.
A number of scholars, researchers, lecturers and those interested in philosophical research will take part in the conference.
Dr Basavaraj Siddashram, professor and chairman of the department of Philosophy, Karnatak University, is the president of the Parishat while Dr Ramachandra, chairman, department of Philosophy, Mysore University is its secretary.
Shri Sugunendra Teerta Swamiji, Paryaya Puttige Math, will function as the honorary president of the Conference Committee and will inaugurate the conference. Dr Vijaya Ballal, trustee, Ambalapady Janardana Mahakali Temple has been chosen to be the president of the said committee. The Conference Committee has been formed with Oscar Fernandes, union minister, Dr V S Acharya, state home minister, Harikrishna Punaroor, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Uppunda Chandrashekar Holla, along with former members of parliament, officials and presidents of the municipality here, as its members. Paryaya Puttige Math Diwan Nagaraj Acharya and administrative officer Prasannacharya will be the conveners of the committee.
Bannanje Govindacharya has been elected to preside over the conference. A work comprising of over 50 articles including the benedictory address of Puttige Swamiji and the presidential address, titled 'Karnataka Darshana' will be released at the conference.
College lecturers, scholars and researchers etc., have been invited as delegates for the conference.
