Bantwal: School stops 4 students from writing SSLC exams for ‘better’ results

Bantwal, Mar 23: A private unaided Kannada medium high school near here withheld registration for SSLC examination of four SSLC students with permission from their parents saying that the students lagged behind in studies.

The parents of the students who have realized the gravity of the situation are regretting for their permission. The matter has given rise to many discussions.

The teachers had spoken about it to the parents when the students were in ninth standard. They had promoted the students from ninth standard and explained to the parents that the students will have to inevitably spend two years in SSLC. The teachers had refrained from registering the names of four students during registration for SSLC examination hall tickets in October, last year. The names of other 29 students were registered. There are allegations that the students were left out to achieve better percentage of results in the examinations.

Bantwal education officer Shivaprakash rushed to the school on Friday soon after he received the information. He gathered details from school teachers and parents of students and said that a notice will be issued to the school asking to submit detailed report within 24 hours.

Shivaprakash said that depriving students from examination for better results is not correct. “Suitable action will be taken against the school,” he said.

    Ashameful act from teachers.we cant blame their parents.May be they arent so educated.I say students are not weak but teachers are weak to engage to make these students bring a good result. when they are weak ,then also teachers duty to look into his weak point to improve.Now the officer has asked the report,but still students have not appeared for exam.Now? Officer should send a report to Govt about their teachers work and immediately show the door for such scandals.Not acceptable .Feel pity for these students . students please dont feel bad .Life has many tests like this .so dont worry,do what you can.Everyone is not born as Genie.By your next test you will be better than others.I too appeared twice in 8th standard.as I was weak in maths.

    This school principal & lecturers responsible for this shameless act must be punished severely.
    First and foremost these must be dismissed and never to be allowed to work in education sector

    What a shame just to get a name for the school/college they meted out injustice those students who needed their support to improve their studies.

    DEAR TEACHERS, I AGREE WE NEED TO MAKE INTELLIGENT STUDENTS, BUT AT THE SAME TIME WE NEED TO SHOW SYMPATHY FOR THOSE STUDENTS, WHO CAN REALIZE THERE INNER ABILITIES, & U CAN SHOW THE REAL MEANING OF TEACHING.

    This happens with many institutes. My daughter is sudying in a reputed school. When I informed to the class teacher that my daughter is weak in maths, he suggested me to join her for tution classes. These institutions do not take any responsbility. If students take tutions and gets good marks institutions take the credit

    This is unacceptable. There seems to be no system in place. In education system there needs to be proper system to determine eligibility criteria . Just detaining students without knowing their worth through proper channel is crime and needs strict possible action ..

    Feeling sad for the students. If they knew from 9th std then teachers did not make put any effort to improve them. Dear students take this as a positive step. Brain capacity changes when we grow. I know the students who were weak in studies till 10th excelled later in their studies.

    There are many more schools who does this kind of practice. If a student is not getting good marks then the school has to be blamed not the student. Parents are sending their children to schools to learn. Paying so much fees and then again parents has to teach them at home. This is our education system.
    Schools required only brilliant students not average studying students . That means they are not here for giving education to the students, its all about money.

    Nowerdays schools are like buiesness what it means good result for school, how many student sucide because of schoola nd school teacher
    every finger in your hand not in same height some UP some Down same every student are not brillent they are week in some subject so teacher should focus on them and teach them well to take pass marks.

    WHAT IS THE AIM OF SCHOOLS?IF STUDENTS BRILLIANT WHY NEED TO GO TO THE SCHOOL?SCHOOLS DUTY IS TO TRAIN THE STUDENTS TO GO FORWARD.WHY NEED 100 PERCENT RESULT IN THE SCHOOL?FOR THAT SOME SCHOOLS MAKE THE STUDENT UNCIVILIZED.SHOULD WITHDRAW RECOGNITION OF SUCH SCHOOLS IMMEDIATELY AND PUNISH HM OF THE SCHOOL
