Bangalore, Feb 26 : Has chief minister B S Yeddyurappa shown discrimination towards Gods? Does he face the wrath of Gods worshipped by backward classes and dalit people? According to opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge -yes.
Starting a debate on budget proposals, Kharge referred to the CM's move of allocating huge amounts in the budget to various temples and mutts. But the budget had not earmarked any amount to deities of lower castes, and to `Aradhana committees' to develop temples not covered by the endowment scheme.
"You've discriminated among Gods. Powerful Gods and mutts have got their due in the budget, while others have to be content with the Aradhana scheme. These Gods (covered under Aradhana) are short-tempered. If they get angry, they will choke you,'' Kharge explained.
Yeddyurappa said he will issue an order on Thursday to release money to these temples.
Medical Camp for Ministers
Kharge suggested Yeddyurappa to hold a medical camp for ministers. Referring to the controversial remarks by Mumtaz Ali Khan and Ramachandra Gowda, Kharge said: "Khan calls minister B Sriramulu as Mohammed Paighambar (messenger of God), while Gowda insults modern art. Please hold a medical camp and investigate their health. It will reveal if they are sane or insane or have high blood pressure. It will be good for you because you need them at least till the Lok Sabha elections."
