Mangalore: Suspected Moral Police Accost Two Couples in City

Mangalore, Feb 26: Two couples present at a juice centre in Balmatta were questioned by a group of people on the evening of Wednesday February 25 and were later taken to the police station.
An eyewitness claimed that two boys and two girls were seated at one of the tables talking to each other when a group of men came in and began talking to them.
Another person claimed that one of the boys ran away when the group entered and the other was grabbed by the collar of his shirt and questioned.
The boys are said to be from a computer training institute and the girls are thought to be employees of the same organization.
The police in Mangalore east (Kadri) police station said that two girls and a boy are at the police station and information is being gathered from them. The police claimed that there had been no report of any assault.
