Mangalore, Feb 25: As per the expulsion notices issued on February 19, Sri Rama Sene state joint convener Prasad Attavar and four other activists Subhash Padil, Jagadish Amin, Lokesh and Ashok appeared before the assistant commissioner in the office of the district deputy commissioner here on Tuesday February 24.
After all of them sought more time to reply to the notices through their advocates, the final hearing was postponed to February 27.
Reportedly, the policemen want 12 Sri Rama Sene activists to be banished from the district but notices were served on only five. The policemen also want to ban entry of Sene founder Pramod Mutalik from entering Dakshina Kannada district because of his militant posture and provocative statements.
The deputy commissioner has indicated that a notice would be served on Mutalik within a week. It is learnt, that Sri Rama Sene succeeded in bringing a stay order from the sessions court for a case registered by the Mangalore tahsildar against 26 Sri Rama Sene activists.
