Kalaburagi, Mar 16: As per a report in a Kannada news channel, Congress has conducted ‘Operation Hastha’ as a counter to BJP who pulled Umesh Jadhav from the Congress party. Kharge and his team has completed the operation without any noise.
Congress has reportedly been successful in snatching three prominent persons of BJP. K B Shanappa, Baburao Chouhan and Shymarao Pyati have said goodbye to BJP. All the three leaders have resigned in retaliation to providing Lok Sabha ticket to Umesh Jadhav. K B Shanappa was in tears during the press conference.
Speaking to the channel, Shyamarao Pyati, one of the three BJP persons who resigned, said, “We are conducting meetings for the past eight days. Umesh Jadhav is declared as the BJP candidate from Kalaburagi without discussing the same with local leaders of the district. No one in the BJP is giving us any clue regarding the guidelines for the district for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Naturally all these developments have pained my mind.”
K B Shanappa said, “I have decided to resign from the BJP. But I will discuss with the my supporters and decide as to whom should I support within two or three days. I am a political animal. I will not sit quiet. It is not possible to support a party candidate who is unknown in the district. If he was an able candidate, then the same must have been discussed with us before welcoming him into the party. But these procedures are not followed and Umesh Jadhav is made the candidate of the party.”
“During the last assembly elections, many BJP leaders, including state BJP president Yeddyurappa were roaming around saying that they have had food at the house of Dalits. On that day only, I had some discontent on the BJP. Just eating at the house of Dalits will not destroy the casteism,” added Shanappa, expressing his rage against BJP
It may be recalled that minister Priyank Kharge had announced on Thursday, March 14, that three leaders will be joining Congress under the leadership of AICC president Rahul Gandhi. Priyank also said that many from BJP will join Congress. In the midst of these developments, Umesh Jadhav has appealed and said that K B Shanappa should not desert BJP. His guidance is very important for the party.
