Beltangady, Feb 21: The inaugural of the state-level symposium 'Sambrama-09', was held at Shri Manjunateshwara College, Ujire on Thursday February 19.
The event was organized by Masters of Social Work department of the College, sponsored by the University Grants Commission.
Speaking after inaugurating the symposium on research method of social science, A Gopalkrishna Pai, managing director, Special Economic Zone (SEZ), said that the fragrance of human values must be focused through the duty and service rendered to the society.
The service provided with love, trust and sacrifice to the people and society will always be fruitful and earn virtues for the giver, he added.
Though the government and all other departments approved the SEZ, still relocating and rehabilitation of people is proving to be an enormous problem. The rehabilitation facility will be provided to the people with a human touch, he explained.
Permanent changes must be made in research methods with the introduction of modern equipments, said Dr Lal Das, director, Research Centre, Hyderabad.
Prof K G Parashuram delivered the introductory speech on the occasion.
Presiding over the function, Dr B Yashovarma, principal, SDM College, said that earning degree certificates to hunt for jobs can not be called education. Study and research need to be conducted continuously so that the society at large is benefited from it, he stressed.
