Bengaluru, Mar 15: The documents of Enforcement Case Investigation Report (ECIR) of the case that is registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against minister D K Shivakumar, his close aide Sachin Narayan and others were submitted to the high court by ED on Thursday, March 14.
The lawyer for ED, additional Solicitor General Prabhulinga K Navadagi, submitted the documents of ECIR in a sealed envelope to the single bench court of Justice Aravind Kumar, which is conducting the inquiry of the application that is submitted by D K Shivakumar and others, questioning the summons sent by the ED.
The judge, who opened the envelope and checked the documents, returned the same to the additional solicitor general and said that he will ask for the same in future, if necessary.
After hearing the argument on the petition filed by D K Shivakumar and others, the bench postponed the inquiry to March 18.
Presenting his argument on behalf of the ED, additional solicitor general said, "Inquiry from the Income tax department and ED is still pending. Now no documents are sought from the accused. They are just asked to be present. Prima facie, there are enough evidences against the accused. If the investigation is done, other points may also be unearthed. In addition, the assets of the applicants are still not confiscated. No action is taken against them. Even then, their request for cancellation of the summons served by ED is not correct. At this stage, this argument is half-baked. So the appeal of the applicants for cancellation of the summons should not be upheld."
