Mangaluru: Police file cases against 178 vehicles for violations of traffic rules

Mangaluru, Mar 14: Mangaluru traffic police, during their inspection, registered cases against 178 vehicles over violations of traffic rules on March 13.

138 cases were registered over zebra crossing violations on the road.

 

The police also took disciplinary action over shrill horns in 40 vehicles. They registered cases against the vehicles and also pulled out and threw such horns.

    Traffic police better come to Ullal area you can book thousands of cases for violating traffic rules.Without licence, no helmet, triplets on two wheelers,shrilled horns etc.

    Good move 178 X Rs 100/= Total amount collected is Rs. 17,800/= a humble contribution towards repairing roads!!!
    Those who are ignorant need to be reminded that the police higher-ups are friends of and friendly with bus/vehicle owners. Evening they have a get together and laugh at us. Problem is not the police alone, our law-makers, most of them are criminals. We vote for criminals not for an upright educated person. Even a primary school failure can be an MP in India. They shape the course of India's future.

    Filling cases and sending notice is one thing, collecting fine is another.The fines collected is in less than 25% of the notices sent. Honest people pay the fines dishonest do not, and they get away with it. Actually court cases should be filed against those who do not pay fine. This is not done. I have got this information through RTI.

    Keep Continue the Same work

    The Road Discipline will be there and also the Accidents will be under control when there is fear of police and fine against traffic violation

    and also please install the reder to monitor the speed limits

    More stringent action is required for repeated offenders of public transport. Rash driving, in human behavious of drivers and conductors towards passengers should also be looked at. Senior citizens are treated like dogs in mangalore public transport, which are not at all user friendly for aged and women with small children. There is a lot of room for development in public transport. Untill the Bus mafia is destroyed, Mangalore will have the black tag of poor public transport service. Traffic police should spend 60% of their time on bringling law and order with private public transport and not spend time on illegal parking, no helmet, which are relatively less hazardous compared to city busses.

    What about vehicles parked on the footpaths across Mangalore? When vehicles are parked on the footpath pedestrians are troubled using the footpath. The police should tow the vehicles parked on the footpath. Auto-rickshaw drivers have no respect for pedestrians walking on the zebra crossing.

    You are absolutely right. Police says don't park on the side of the road. If vehicles are parked on footpath pedestrians can not walk. In Mangalore city there are very few places for parking. Those places are reserved early morning by people who work nearby areas. Now it is easy to buy a car for many because Pay little down payment rest of the amount in 5 to 10 years in installments. Each one come with their car and park in the morning and go home only after their work in the evening freely without paying single Rupee for parking. Half a cent of the government land is theirs for not spending any money or tax for years. So others who buy cars only to keep in their homes, even in emergency it is not possible to come with their Car. There should be paid parking during day time from 9AM to 7PM specially in City area, so that others also get parking.

    Come to Bangalore. Here people drive on wrong side of a one way service road ..that too over the footpath..that too when traffic police is there..

    I am not stranger to Bangalore, driving in Bangalore since 1983. I know most of the youth never follow traffic rules. Poor Policemen are scared because they have to do their duty at same place next day too, if they catch them they don't know who are from which group and who are their godfaters.

    Really good move, also the city buses stopping indiscriminately, many a time on the middle of the road, whenever a passenger is sighted, causing a great deal of inconvenience to the rest of the traffic, to be viewed seriously.
