The last of my father's siblings has also passed away. Forty years ago we were both students of Karnatak University, Dharwar. I an undergraduate living in the ladies hostel and he studying for his MA in English at the University. From uncle and niece we became friends and that's what we remained. The only person with whom I could discuss any subject and share any kind of humour with. He even sportingly enjoyed my digs at the religious. May his soul rest in peace along with those of his family.

Dear Fr. Mathew Aba, We just cannot believe that you are no more with us. In fact, we had plans to meet with you this April. I had heard about you for many years, but I was so delighted to know that you are the uncle of my mother-in-law. To meet you a few years ago was like a "dream come true!" for me. You were a real genius and scholar, yet down-to-earth person. Aba, we pray to our Lord to give eternal rest to your soul. I am sure, Fr. Pratap has lost a great friend and a mentor but I am positive that the work started by you will continue in St. Stephen Konkani Kendra. Ronald Olivera & fly, UAE Srany Pais % fly, Barkur
