Mangalore, Feb 18: Spiritual leader Mata Amrutanandamayi arrived in the city on Tuesday February 17, to take part in the two-day annual festival of Brahmastana temple set up by the city-based Mata Amrutanandamayi Math and inaugurated by her last year.
Mata Amrutanandamayi Seva Samiti president Dr Jeevaraj Sorake informed at a press conference held in the city on Tuesday that the Guru will be taking part in the huge spiritual programme being organized in the premises of Mata Amrutanandamayi Math in Boloor here. He also said, that on both the days, her disciples and devotees can have the darshan of Amma, as she is popularly known all over the world, at 10 am and again at 6.30 pm. Discourses, Bhajans, meditation and darshan programme will comprise of her itineraries on both the days. No fee will be charged for her darshan, but the devotees will have to come sufficiently in advance and occupy their seats to be able to collect tokens and have the darshan of their reverred spiritual leader, he explained.
At 7.30 am on February 19, mass puja for warding off the 'Rahudosha' will be held while 'Shanidosha Nivarana' puja will be held at 6.30 pm, in the presence of the visiting saint. Lalita Sahasranamarchane will be performed on both days, and receipts for the same may be collected from the offices of the math set up specifically for the purpose. Those who take part in these pujas will get preference over others, in having the darshan of Amma. All arrangements including transportation have been put in place to ensure that devotees aspiring to visit the spiritual leader will not face any hardships. Food arrangement has also been made for the people, who are expected to come from various places from the country and abroad in addition to the city citizens, Sorake said.
Amma will inaugurate social service programmes like distribution of tailoring machines, scholarships, old age pension and handicapped allowance programmes undertaken by the committee. The district administration has agreed to set aside an acre of land for the purpose of continuing with ‘Amruta Kuteera’ programme envisaged by Amma, Dr Sorake said.
