Udupi, Mar 12: G A Koteyar, president of Mahiti Seva samithi Karnataka speaking at press club here on Monday, March 11 said, “Citizens of India must be think well before casting their valuable vote. Voters should not be influenced by anything. That is why Mahiti Seva Samiti is creating public awareness on importance of voting.”
Koteyar raised seven points that a voter should be keep in mind before choosing his/her candidate.
1. Honest and educated candidates
2. Candidates who have served at least five years without any hidden agenda, like name, fame, or for money
3. Candidates who are not religious fanatics
4. Candidates who are not speaking about religion and caste
5. Candidates who have knowledge and experience in the development process of the country
6. Candidates who live in your constituency and have served you without any personal benefit or gain
7. Never cast your votes to criminals, corrupt religious fanatics, dividing rulers-Teach them a lesson. Isolate them.
“If you cannot find good quality in any of the candidate contesting, then use `NOTA' button in the voting machine.
“Most of the voters do not mind about candidates, but will look at the party. One should choose the right person for the right place. Let us choose right candidate for better India,” he said.
Veena Deepak, women president, Mass India NGO, Vishwanath, youth president, Mass India Karnataka, Narasimha Murthy Rao, and Harikrishna Thantri were present.
