Bengaluru, Mar 11 (IANS): Hinduja Global Solutions here on Monday said it has set up a centre of excellence to train disabled persons for jobs in collaboration with Nasscom Foundation, IT industry apex body's philanthropic arm.
"The centre will train around 100 people with disabilities to make them industry-ready over the next 12 months with a target of placing at least 50 per cent of them in companies sensitised for hiring them," the IT company said in a statement.
The Bengaluru centre is the third in tieup with Nasscom Foundation, after similar centres were set up in Noida and New Delhi.
The trainees will be skilled for jobs in hospitality, information technology (IT), business process management (BPM) and retail industries sectors.
"They will also be skilled in communication, English language, soft and interview skills using assistive technologies," it added.
With initiatives like these, the Nasscom Foundation hopes to increase the number of people with disabilities in the IT-BPM sector from 0.5 per cent to 3 per cent.
