Mangalore, Feb 16: A function to release documentaries, 'Akrandana' and 'Parivartana' was held at Shadi Mahal in Bolar recently.
The event was organized by Jamiyat-ul-Falah Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Committee.
Abdul Rehaman Kunhikoya Tangal, Ullal Qazi, inaugurated the programme.
B Ahmed Haji Mohiuddin, president, Mahiuddin Education Trust, released the documentary on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ibrahim Musliyar demanded for a concerted effort by the community leaders to put an end the dowry system prevalent among the Muslim community. This can be possible only if the youths make a strong determination and solemnize their marriages in simple ceremonies, he opined

Qasim Muhammad, unit president, Riyad briefly explained the future plans of 'Akrandana' and 'Parivartane'.
Hazrat Fazil Razwi Kavalakatte, Yenepoya Abdulla Kunni, K S Mohammad Masood, Kenachoor Monu, B A Moidin Bawa, S M Rashid, Y Muhammad Kunhi, Abdurrashid Zaini Kamil Sakafi, M B Abdul Rehaman, B A Mumtaz Ali, B M Bashir Ahmad, M A Muhammad Hanif, T S Budan Basha, Abdul Latif Puttur and S B Muhammad Darimi presented papers at the seminar.
Shahul Hamid welcomed the gathering. Abdul Razak Anantady compered the programme. Muhammad Hanif proposed vote of thanks.
