Mangaluru, Mar 11: Eighteen priests from Mangaluru diocese presented 'Vinchovn Konachi', a religious drama at Padua College ground on Sunday, March 10.
Large number of spectators watched the drama.
The drama was about death sentence to Jesus Christ and release of Barabbas from prison, who was a dacoit. The drama enthralled the audience with its philosophical narration and also political views. Priests from Mangaluru and Beltangady deanery took part in the drama as artistes.
The drama is written by Fr Alwyn Serrao, principal, Padua College and directed by Christi Ninasam. Clanwin Fernandes is the associate director.
Wishing success to drama J R Lobo, former MLA, Mangaluru South said, “Fr Alwyn is excellent in drama writing. I have watched many of his dramas. All his dramas end with a moral which is very important for every individual. It is great to see some talented and like- minded priests coming together and staging a drama. I appreciate their efforts. Through this, they aim to spread moral values in the society. I congratulate them and their technical team. Hope the drama will bring a new revolution in drama field.”
Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, vicar forane, Beltangady deanery, welcomed the gathering. Fr Alwyn Serrao delivered the introductory speech on the drama.
