Chandrahasa was born in 1969. He began his career in Yakshagana in the Bacchagar troupe of Shunti Satyanarayana Bhat. Hudugodu Chandrahasa, Thumbri Bhaskara and Jalavalli Madhava Nayak were the three artistes who started their Yakshagana career together.
Later he associated himself with Saligrama and other Yakshagana troupes. He was very decent and cultured person. His acting had the glimpses of the famous artiste Gode Narayana Hegde. Chandrahasa had stopped acting and joined politics when he was still in his prime. Nowadays he used to perfom only as an amateur artist.
