Nairobi, Mar 10 (IT): An Ethiopian Boeing 737 flight to Nairobi has crashed with 149 onboard passengers and eight crew members between Addis Ababa and Kenya's capital, Nairobi, confirmed the Ethiopian prime minister's office on Sunday.
The Boeing 737 flight crashed while it was en route to Nairobi, according to reports.
"The Office of the PM, on behalf of the Government and people of Ethiopia, would like to express its deepest condolences to the families of those that have lost their loved ones on Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 on regular scheduled flight to Nairobi, Kenya this morning," the office of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said on Twitter.

A spokesperson for the airline has confirmed to Reuters that 149 passengers and eight crew members were on board the plane at the time of the crash.
"It is confirmed it happened 8:44 (am)," said the spokesperson told the news agency.
As of now, the cause and location of the crash remain unknown.
