Bengaluru: Prakash Rai defamation case - Court orders police custody for MP Pratap Simha

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Mar 8: Pratap Simha, Member of Parliament of Mysuru-Kodagu constituency, who is facing police case in the derogatory post on twitter against actor Prakash Rai, was taken into police custody on Friday, March 8.

Pratap Simha was present in the court today with regards to the defamation case filed against him by Prakash Rai. Neither Pratap nor his lawyer attended the inquiry earlier, though the court served summons several times. The special court for criminal cases against the people’s representatives, which considered this non-attendance of the MP and his lawyer seriously, served a non-bailable warrant against the MP. It also ordered the Mysuru police commissioner to present Pratap in the court.

The city police, who took custody of Pratap Simha, as per the order of the special court judge produced him before the court. At the same time, Pratap Simha had submitted an appeal to the court requesting quashing of the warrant served on him. Justice B V Patil who conducted an inquiry on the application of Pratap Simha ordered him to be in police custody for some time.

No idea why a few readers here connect this to anti Hindu issue. I am not being rude here but I guess all of us have to get beyond the relegion thing and look at the bigger picture.

If our relegion is the cause of pain to the society and if the relegious fanaticism threatens to cause a irreversible divide between us, what's the use of relegion . We are all better as atheists.

A legally literate person would understand the report.
The court ordered his custody for sometime, means he is detained in the court and then a verdict would be pronounced.
If anyone, used a mobile phone in the court premises, after a warning, the judge normally orders the person to be in custody for the day, which means, he should be in the court, till the end of the session.
