Bengaluru, Mar 7: A twitter campaign under the hashtag #SelfieWithTilak has been started on Twitter against the statement of former chief minister Siddaramaiah, who said “I am scared at the sight of people who wear long Tilaks on their forehead. People who sport Tilaks are from BJP.”
Siddaramaiah gave the controversial statement in a meeting at Badami of Bagalakote district. In addition to giving the statement, he had defended the same on his twitter account also. Moreover, he stuck to his views on sporting Tilak on forehead in the Parivarthana Samavesha that was held in Mangaluru also.
Condemning the controversial statement made by Siddaramaiah, more than thousand people have taken to twitter and have shared their photos with Tilak on their forehead. MP Shobha Karandlaje condemned the statement of Siddaramaiah and tweeted on her account on Wednesday, March 6 saying “Tilak is the symbol of Indian tradition. I am proud of it.”
C T Ravi, chief secretary of BJP of Karnataka has shared the photo of Siddaramaiah with Tilak on his forehead and has questioned, “Siddaramaiah, do you hate Hindus so much?” However, Siddaramaiah has not budged with all these developments and still defended his statement on twitter.
