Mangalore, Feb 12: The traffic police department has registered cases against 105 workers of city and service buses on Wednesday February 11.
The cases were filed on the basis of complaints received from the passengers, about the misbehaviour, negligence, deriding of passengers and picking fights with them by the bus staff etc. apart from failure to produce driving licence and other papers during duty hours. The complaints were being filed by the passengers almost daily, and they related to routine incidents taking place in most of the buses in the city.
This measure was undertaken by the traffic police to solve the problems being faced by passengers during travelling. Further, the authorities will also cross check the complaints received from the commuters, at the time of verifying the records of the buses and their workers.
Henceforth, the bus drivers and conductors should always wear uniforms while on duty and they must carry the driving licences with them without fail while on duty, said Subrahmanya, traffic police inspector.
