Bengaluru, Mar 7: In the annual 'Swachh Sarvekshan 2019' survey of clean cities conducted across India, Mysuru has succeeded in being ranked within the first ten ranks among Indian cities as far as meeting cleanliness parameters of the survey is concerned. For the third time in succession, Mysuru finds itself in the top ten, and notably, it has improved its ranking to third spot from the eighth spot it won last year.
For the third time in a row, Indore has been adjudged the cleanest city of India with the second spot going to Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh.

President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, presented mementos to the mayors and heads of award-winning municipal bodies at New Delhi on Wednesday March 6.
Karnataka has fared badly in the survey, with no other city from the state getting ranked below hundred except Mysuru. The other cities from Karnataka to get satisfactory rankings happen to be Mangaluru (165), Bengaluru (194), Tumakuru (231), Hubballi - Dharwad (235), Chitradurga (242), Vijayapura (251), Udupi (254), Belagavi (277) and Bagalakote (290).
