Mangaluru, Mar 6: “I do not sport long tilak on my forehead. Am I not a Hindu?” questioned Siddaramaiah. He was responding to the query by the scribes on his statement “I am scared of those who sport long tilaks (Kum Kum) on their forehead,’, which he gave at a function in Badami recently.
He was speaking to media on Wednesday, March 6 at Mangaluru international airport here as he arrived in the city to take part in the Congress convention at Adyar garden.
Siddaramaiah also said, “Are only those who apply tilaks on their forehead are Hindus? It does not mean that those who do not wear Tilak on their head are not Hindus. I do not sport tilak, am I not a Hindu? Those who apply long tilaks are from BJP and I am scared of long tilaks. The tilaks should be small always. “
When asked about Umesh Jadhav’s resignation, the former CM said, “MLA Umesh Jadhav has submitted his resignation letter to the speaker and he will review it. We have put a petition against four people, including Umesh Jadhav, and the petition is pending. The resignation of Umesh Jadhav is not accepted. It is an offence to take part in the BJP convention as a Congress MLA, when his resignation is not yet accepted. We are thinking to register a case against Jadhav. “
"Rahul Gandhi will meet every leader of coalition government. The seat sharing process will be concluded within three to four days,” said Siddaramiah.
When asked about the pressure on giving away the Mysuru Lok Sabha seat to Devegowda, Siddramaiah said, “Along with JD (S), Congress leaders are also demanding the seat. There is demand to give candidature to Congress. We won’t give way our MP seat. “
