Bagalakote, Mar 5: Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math Udupi asserted that war between India and Pakistan is unnecessary. He said he is strongly against war between the two countries as it will inflict huge devastation and destruction in both the countries.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday March 4, the Swamiji said that both the countries will have to bear with huge losses if war breaks out. He therefore, supported launching of surgical strikes to achieve desired result. "Pakistan does not have the potential and will to undertake this misadventure. Therefore, avoiding war at any cost is the best option. Our entire nation is backing Indian security forces. The union government and our security forces have taken bold and belligerent steps to handle ulterior designs of the enemy. These actions have buoyed our spirits and instilled a sense of renewed confidence," he mentioned.
The Swamiji said that leaders of different political outfits are not right in issuing different statements on the air strikes launched by the Air Force. He felt that irrespective of differences of opinion between leaders and parties, all those should be united as far as the issue of defending the nation is concerned.
He expressed the view that the issue of former chief minister, Siddaramaiah, not visiting Sri Krishna Math at Udupi so far does not deserve to be blown out of proportions.
