Dubai, Mar 3: Mogarnad parishioners had a day of fun and frolic at Zabeel Park, which will be etched in the memories of each one who gathered to commemorate the ‘Parish Feast’ on March 1.
There were a few showers in the early hours, and the weather was cloudy with a threat of further rain. Almighty God and parish patron Mother Mary did not let the efforts by the organising team go in vain. In spite of bad weather forecast, big number of parishioners gathered as early as 10.00 am to celebrate the parish feast in UAE.
The day began with invoking the blessings from the Almighty and Mother Mary through a beautiful prayer. The celebration started at 10 am with a tasty breakfast.
The programme conducted and managed by Delson Dsilva started with a warm up game of 'Bombing the City’ giving the gathering a much needed warm up. After that, there was no stopping them, which was evident from their total and complete participation in all games conducted throughout the day.
The gathering were divided into four groups. Each group was given a colour code viz, Orange, Green, Purple and White.
Fascinating and amusing games like Sack Race, Passing the Water Baloon, Lagori, Plank relay and Tug-of-war kept the crowd engaged until the end. The kids too took active part in lemon and spoon race.
With maximum points, 'Purple’ under the captainship of Roshan, emerged as the winner of the day.
Sumptuous lunch with Mangalurean dishes was served. Organisers had gone the extra mile to ensure that the meal provided was both hearty and delicious.
The programme concluded at 5 pm with distribution of gifts to the winners. Delson Dsilva, in his vote of thanks, thanked everyone for the participation and the support and requested for similar co-operation for all future events and projects.
