Mangaluru Mar 3: BJP national spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi termed BJP Karnataka president Yeddyurappa's controversial statement on airstrike as his personal assessment and not the statement of BJP.
Addressing media here on Sunday, March 3, Meenakshi Lekhi said," Yeddyurappa's statement was his personal opinion and not the statement of the BJP. Meanwhile, BJP stands by its statement that in the time of need, our leadership will take the call which favours the nation.”
"The response by the forces has sent a strong message that we will destroy the mechanism and machineries which produce these kinds of Jihadis. India's response was really narrow, smart and focused. The Jihadi forces need to curtailed and contained. We are left with no option but to deal with the manner, in which we have dealt with,” justified Lekhi.
“We have not attacked any civilian area. We have not attacked any military establishments. We have only taken charge of the terrorist organisation which is working across the border. Abhinandan's return to the country has given a boost to the morale of our people,” she said.
When questioned that the opposition is asking for evidence, she said," We have given the evidence of Uri. This attack’s evidence also exists as Jaish themselves have given a call to Jihadis that Balakot has been destroyed and Jihadis themselves are claiming the same. Opposition parties need to watch the news and social media thoroughly.”
When asked about Congress extending hand with AAP in Delhi, Lekhi said," AAP is a creation of Congress party and people need to understand this phenomenon. The main intention was to break into opposition votes because they knew the anti corruption movement which took place and highlighted scams in Delhi will benefit BJP. To breach that benefit, AAP was created. They are two sides of the same coin.”
