Mangaluru, Mar 3: City crime branch (CCB) police here, who got information that a prostitution racket was being run in a residential house at Ashok Nagar within the limits of Urwa police station in the city, raided the house in question on Saturday March 2 .
The raiding party arrested a woman, Arudhathi (40) from Urwa, who reportedly was operating the brothel, along with a man identified as Ravikumar (41) from Chattisgarh. They also recovered three cellphones which were being used for operations connected with the racket, and Rs 6,400 in cash.
Two women, who are said to be victims of the racket, were rescued and handed over to women and child protection unit. The accused as well as the things confiscated during the operation were handed over to Urwa police station for further action.
CCB unit police inspector,Shantaram, Urwa police inspector, K M Shariff, sub-inspector, Kabbalraj and other staff participated in the raid.
