Mangalore, Feb 9: Tulu play, ‘Kuduruda Siri', bagged the first place in the state level historical and mythological drama competition held at Panambur recently.
The drama 'Kuduruda Siri' staged by Kadri Artistes, penned by Kadri Navneet Shetty and directed by Rohidas Kadri was successful in winning over the hearts of the judges in the competition.
The drama 'Dangeya Munchina Dinagalu,' by Abhinaya Huligi team of Koppala secured second place, while 'Kannada Kula Tilaka Shri Krishna Devaraya' by Kadala Nada Artistes, Mangalore, got the third place in the competition.
Ashwat Desai of Abhinaya Huligi team received the ‘best director award', whereas Koppala team and Kadri artistes team received first and second place for the stage settings respectively.
Kishore D Shetty, artiste, Kadala Nada Artistes, received the ‘best actor' award while Renuka Bhave of Abhinaya Huligi Team received the 'best actress' award. Apart from them, Rohidas Kadri of Kadri Artistes was awarded with the 'best actor in negative role', while Nirmala Shetty of Yashaswini Mahila Mandala, received the ‘best actress in comic role' award.
