Mangalore, Feb 9: A three-day programme of Mono Yakshagana will be held at Sanatana Natyalaya from Friday February 13 to Sunday February 15.
The event is being organized by Mangalore Bharata Nritya Sabha under the guidance of Dr R Ganesh, writer and Mantapa Prabhakar Upadhyay, director.
Kumble Sundar Rao, president, Karnataka Yakshagana Academy, will inaugurate the programme under the presidentship of Dr M Prabhakar Joshi on Friday February 13 at 5.30 pm.
Nagesh A Bappanadu will participate as the chief guest during the 'Yaksha Darpana' mono yakshagana to be staged on the occasion.
Mantapa Prabhakar Upadyay, diector of the programme, will deliver a talk and interact with the students on Saturday February 14 at 2.30 pm.
Later, 'Venu Visarjane' and 'Shoorpanakhi' mono yakshagana episodes will be performed at 6 pm.
The Bharata Nritya Sabha will also be providing an opportunity to the interested audience to participate in a programme of open discussion with artistes on Sunday February 15 at 2.30 pm.
Apart from the above, the students of Satyavati Moodabaditaya will present a musical concert at 4.15 pm, followed by 'Bhamini' mono-Yakshagana programme at 6 pm on the concluding day.
