Bangalore, Feb 9: Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has asked union women and child welfare department minister Renuka Chowdhury to exercise restraint before issuing indifferent and blatant statements by sitting in Delhi, without properly gathering actual facts.
"Central ministers should behave responsibly before issuing statements. The people have realized the truth behind the assault on the daughter of Kerala MLA in Mangalore. The statement issued by Chowdhury itself lays bare the identities of people who were behind the conspiracy to defame the state government. Five people have already been arrested in connection with the case, he explained.
Even after arresting the youth, the opposition parties continue to chant that the Bajrang Dal and Sri Ram Sena are behind the attack. "They seem to be under the impression that repeating the untrue allegations a hundred times will change them into true ones," he ridiculed.
He expressed his readiness for an inquiry into the incident by a committee of experts formed by the central government. "Please stop unnecessarily accusing the state government. We have no objection if you want to depute a committee and inquire into the episode," he declared.
