Udupi, Mar 2: The youth who posted a threatening video on social sites of conducting a bomb blast on Malpe beach is arrested by the police. He is identified as Srijan (18), a resident of Thottam near Malpe.
In the video of one minute and 24 seconds, Srijan, covering his face with cloth, has threatened in Hindi language of conducting blast at the Malpe beach and also raised pro Pakistani slogans.
The police were into action right from the morning of Saturday, March 2 and informed the matter to their superiors. The special team that was formed under the district SP Nisha James and additional SP Kumarchandra acted swiftly and succeeded in arresting the accused.
Police zeroed on a person by the name Anand of Nepal origin who runs a shop in the vicinity of Malpe beach. He told the police that Srijan, a resident of Thottam in Malpe has sent this video to him. When police went to Srijan's home and inquired he confessed that he has produced that said video.
Srijan is working as a shepherd and his father works in a shop selling plastic products. Police have confiscated the towel and mobile phone which the accused used while filming the video.
