Bengaluru, Feb 28: Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy spoke on the possibilities of a Kannadiga becoming prime minister if the coalition government wins at least 20-22 seats in Karnataka.
Speaking at an event, he said JD(S) national president HD Devegowda was made India’s 11th PM in 1996 after the party secured 16 Lok Sabha seats.
When asked if his statement could become a reality, why can’t it happen? He questioned back. “In this country anything can happen?” he said.
Currently, HD Deve Gowda is a member of the 16th Lok Sabha, representing the Hassan constituency of Karnataka.
