Bengaluru, Feb 28: Former CM of Karnataka and president of State BJP, B S Yeddyurappa's comment of linking airstrikes of the IAF with the Lok Sabha elections and saying that "The action of IAF will help BJP bag 22 seats in the state" has become national embarrassment now as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insafm (PTI), the party to which prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan belongs to has said that Indians were manipulated into war mongering by the people who want to win the election desperately.
This statement was tweeted by the party of Imran Khan on its Twitter handle on Thursday, February 28.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party used the tweet made by Barkha Dutt as reference, in which she criticized the comment made by Yeddyurappa.
Within 30 minutes of its initial tweet, the PTI party again made a tweet saying that the war is being waged as an election tactic.
It seems that the PTI is trying to divide the government of India and it citizens by alleging that the aerial attack on Pakistan was the misadventure of 'One Man' (refers indirectly to PM Modi), who it alleges is desperate to win an election.
The Pakistani party also might be trying to mislead the public of India by driving their attention away from the fact that the Balakot air strike by IAF was the result of instigation by Pakistan-sponsored, Pulwama attack.
There was no difference of opinion between the ruling government and the opposition in India with regards to the Pulwama attack and the Balakot air strike as the opposition stood firmly with the government on both the occasions. However, the statement given by Yeddyurappa has given the enemy country to project India as a divided family and show that the present shelling and bombing is the consequence of the deeper plans of BJP to win the election and not a retaliation to the Pulwama attack.
Though Yeddyurappa has said that his comments were taken out of context, the damage his statement done was immense.
The tweet of Imran Khan's party PTI comes a blow to the ruling BJP as central minister Arun Jaitley had accused the opposition parties of the country of playing into the hands of Pakistan just a day ago on February 27.
Now the BJP is silenced completely as it is the statement of one of its prominent leader like B S Yeddyurappa that is pounced upon by the ruling party of Pakistan to promote its political stance.
