Mangalore, Feb 6: The cultural programmes of Karavali Utsav, which had been postponed in view of the demise of ex-President of India R Venkatraman, have been rescheduled for the following days.
The programmes will now take place at the exhibition stage on February 7, 10, 14 and 15 while the programme on February 8 will be staged at the Ravindra Kalabhavan of the University College, Hampankatta here.
On February 7, Sri Vidyabhushan, Bangalore will sing devotional songs by Dasas from 7 pm onwards. On February 10, Ustad Fayaz Khan from Bangalore will present Tumri and Dasa songs, from 6.30 pm onwards. At 6.30 pm on February 14, Sandeep Chatterjee from Kolkata will present a musical performance on Santoor, while Kathak dance programme from Anuradha Singh Bhopal and troupe has been slated for February 15.
On February 8, a programme of devotional songs by Dasas will be held from 9 am to 5.30 pm at Ravindra Kalabhavan. Under this programme, Mulky Mahaganapati Bhajana Troupe will sing Dasa Bhajans from 9 am. Bangalore Prasanna Kori will sing Dasa songs previously sung by Bharatratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. Sri Bhadragiri Achutadasji will present 'Bhakta Kanakadasa' Harikatha programme from 11.30 pm onwards. From 2 pm, an Antakshari programme of Dasa songs will be held. Puttur Narasimha Nayak will present a Dasavani programme titled 'Keli Nimma Hadu (Hear song of your choice)' from 3.30 pm, a release stated.
