Mangalore, Feb 5: ‘Beach Utsav’, a three-day heritage expo of Dakshina Kannada district will be held at Panambur beach from Friday February 6 as part of the Karavali Utsav. An ‘Aharotsava’, with traditional cuisine on offer will also be arranged at the same place.
Addressing media persons here on Thursday February 5, Sameer Shukla, commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation, said that the Utsav would have various cultural, sports, and games competitions. “People can taste the traditional dishes of the Dakshina Kannada in the stalls as part of the ‘Aharotsava’. Bicycle rally, boat race, swimming competition, beach cricket, beach volleyball, beach throwball, kite competition, sand art, and other beach sports will be conducted during the Utsav”, he said.
Cultural programmes will also be an attraction for visitors on all three days of the festival. Eminent singer Kunal Ganjawala will perform on the valedictory day of the event.
