Kasargod, Feb 25: Two students of a school in Periya in the district have been diagnosed with H1N1 infection. Both stand admitted into the district cooperative hospital for treatment.
The doctors said that blood samples of five students had exhibited symptoms of infection and two of these confirmed cases were hospitalized. Health of 67 students is being closely monitored. These students of a residential school at Periya have been kept separately.
The school officials said that the students started suffering from symptoms like sore throat, cough, fever, and running nose since Thursday. All the 67 students who showed symptoms were housed in some rooms of the school away from others, said K M Vijayakumar, principal of the school.
The health department officials said that there was no need to become panicky and situation is under control.
