Brahmavar: Job fair at Kota - Karandlaje advises students to imbibe confidence

Brahmavar, Feb 25: "The students should always keep moving ahead by using the guiding light of their self-confidence. They can achieve progress in the fields of their interest by making the best use of job fairs like this one," said Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP, Shobha Karandlaje. She was speaking after inaugurating district level job fair titled 'Bharavase', which was organized under the aegis of the district administration, zilla panchayat skill development, entrepreneurship and employment, industrial training and district employment exchange office of Udupi district apart from Dr Shviarama Karanth Foundation Kota, and Pradhan Mantri Skill Development Programme under National Service Scheme. The fair was organized in the premises of Viveka educational institutions at Kota in the taluk on Sunday February 24.



She said that Indians are in high demand all over the world, and the might of Indians is witnessed the most in USA. "Many have gone abroad in search of lucrative employment, settled there and serving there. They have brought respect and laurels for Indians. Many people including doctors, engineers and other degree holders are in good demand. Udupi district is known as a district of intelligent and honest people. Many companies have been working to provide employment services to the people, and unemployed people should make use of these entities. The central government is committed to provide work to unemployed people. Towards this end, a number of skill development training programmes are being organized. Job fair is one such programme organized in association with the state government," she clarified.

Shobha, noting the number of girls at the job fair far exceeded that of men, remarked about the increasing eminence of women in all fields. She hailed this district for having women in the positions of deputy commissioner, district in-charge minster, superintendent of police, additional deputy commissioner and others, and expressed pride at representing this illustrious district. She said that the women can manage houses well and keys of the homes can be safely given to them.

Shobha said that she had brought a number of development projects to the district being the MP here, and promised to continue to serve people.

In his introductory address, convener of the job fair and leader of the opposition in the legislative council, Kota Srinivas Poojary, noted that organizing job fairs in places like kota which is a rural centre, is not easy. He said as soon as this challenging work was accomplished, a large crowd of unemployed people had lined up for the job fair.He hoped that the fair will inspire the students to move on the direction of their choice.

Kotathattu gram panchayat president,Raghu Tingalaya, presided. Deputy commissioner of the district, Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, taluk panchayat president, Nalini Pradeep Rao, Adani Group executive director, Kishore Alva, Kota Viveka PU College pirncipal, Jagadish Navada, employment officer, Kalandar Khan, skill officer, Bhaskar A Ameen, Rotary Club Kota city secretary, M Subraya Acharya etc were present. Karanth Foundation working president, Aand C Kunder, welcomed. The programme was presented by Narendra Kumar Kota, secretary of the foundation. Panchayat development officer, Harish Shetty, rendered vote of thanks.
