Beltangady: Car overturns at Charmadi when trying to flee from police

Beltangady, Feb 25: A car which was trying to escape from the police at Charmadi near here on the night of Saturday overturned in the bargain. Reportedly the car belongs to people of Kasargod origin. It had three young men and a lady, and all of them were under the influence of ganja.

When the car met with accident, the men fled from there. The lady was taken into custody. She was taken to the police station by Beltangady police inspector, Sandesh P G. On Sunday, he called the lady's father and sent her away in his company.

This four-member team had visited a hotel at Banakal for food and then escaped without paying the bill. Based on complaint, the police had tried to stop the car at Kottigehara check post, but the car succeeded in hoodwinking them and fleeing. When the police tried to stop the car at Charmadi check post, those in the car tried to turn the car towards Kottigehara. When doing so, they lost control over the car after which the car overturned.

The police inspector said that no case was registered in the station as no one filed any complaint about the incident.

    iI think all were from well off family.... so the lady was sent safely.. .if it would be from any middle class or poor family then this crime would be on front page and punishment would be severe

    Kerala police are very strict unlike Karnataka police where they leave the car and the lady who disobeyed police, tried to escape from police and who were under the influence of ganja!!!! Thanks to the sajjige bajil government of Karnataka!!!
