Kalaburagi, Feb 23: The high court bench of the city has ordered an interim stay into the inquiry and investigation of FIR that is registered against state BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa and three other leaders in the Devadurga police station of Raichur district with regards to the audio tape related to 'Operation Lotus'.

The high court bench had kept its order pending on Wednesday, February 20, on the inquiry of the appeal that was submitted requesting the quashing of the FIR that was registered against state BJP president Yeddyurappa, MLAs Shivanagouda Nayak and Preetham Gowda and senior journalist M B Maramakal.

On Friday, February 22, justice PGM Patil ordered an interim stay on the inquiry of the case and issued a notice to complainant Sharanagouda Kandakoora. However, the judge did not honour the appeal to quash the FIR.

Meanwhile, speaking to the scribes in Humnabad of Bidar district, Yeddyurappa expressed his happiness over the interim stay granted by the high court bench.

    We have a strange system that is not only ridiculous but unjust. If there was taped conversation, why not the inquiry continues to authenticate the voice? Why stop inquiry, just because the rich and the corrupt are beyond the law?

    For BJP's Karnataka Chief Yedurappa Criminal records are so much that as if army Jawan having multiple gallantry awards. It may be pride for jawan but Yeddy it is big achievements.

    Here is some of is achievements;
    1. Clean Chit wife's mysterious death in his own residence water tank.
    2. Clean Chit for Denotifiation
    3. Clean Chit for Minning Kickbacks.
    4. Now 'Operation Kamala' audio tape is in making.

    The Prime Minister Modi government has passed in the parliament passes anti-corruption Bill that punishes bribe givers too.
    The Bill provides for imprisonment from three to seven years, besides fine, to those convicted of taking bribes. Bribe givers have also been included in the legislation for the first time and they can be punished with imprisonment up to seven years, fine, or both.

    Now BJP's own MLA caught offering a bribe and getting Interim stay proves how weak is this bill.

    Interestingly, all the BJP MLA's in Karnataka who have criminal charges are heard by Single member bench. Why BJP's cases are heard by Single bench Judges? How the bribe accused gets interim bail before an inquiry?

    Yerruruppa remains infamous for being on the wrong side of the law at all times. High time he retires and spares the state his unwelcome presence in the state politics.
